Clubhouse Gallery Supports ArtCrush 2026 at the Aspen Art Museum

Clubhouse Gallery is honored to support the Aspen Art Museum’s 21st annual ArtCrush Auction with Cell 1111: The Countdown (2026), a monumental mixed-media work by Russell Craig.
July 21, 2026

The work is currently on view at the Aspen Art Museum and is being offered as Lot 11 in the ArtCrush Online Auction, with bidding open through Saturday, August 1 at 12 PM MT.

ArtCrush is the Aspen Art Museum’s marquee annual fundraiser, bringing together artists, collectors, galleries, and cultural leaders in support of the Museum’s year-round exhibitions, educational initiatives, critical dialogues, and community programming. This year’s gala, taking place Friday, July 31 at the base of Buttermilk Mountain, is chaired by Sarah Arison and Charlie Pohlad and honors Adrián Villar Rojas, recipient of the 2026 Lewis Family Art Award at the Aspen Art Museum.

The 2026 auction brings together an exceptional international group of artists. Live-auction highlights include works by Adrián Villar Rojas, Sayre Gomez, Xinyi Cheng, Camille Henrot, Keith Mayerson, Kelly Akashi, Ding Shilun, and Michelangelo Pistoletto. The online presentation includes works by Andy Warhol, George Condo, Josef Albers, Leonora Carrington, Russell Craig, and a wide-ranging group of emerging and established artists.

At nearly eight feet tall, Craig’s Cell 1111: The Countdown (2026) transforms the architecture of a prison door into a meditation on time, survival, and self-determination. His face appears through the food slot amid woven leather, painted fragments, and heavily worked architectural textures. The numbers “321” evoke the countdown preceding the release from lockdown, a psychological rhythm unique to this work.

Founded by artists in 1979, the Aspen Art Museum is a non-collecting institution dedicated to advancing contemporary art and encouraging cultural exchange through exhibitions, research, dialogue, and community engagement. Clubhouse Gallery is pleased to join the participating artists and galleries in supporting this important artist-founded institution. Net proceeds from the auction benefit the Museum’s exhibitions and educational programming locally and internationally.

ArtCrush 2026 is presented by ZEGNA, with major support from Van Cleef & Arpels. Christie’s serves as the Museum’s live-auction partner.
